The following settings will
           maximize your throughput
           and speed your connection
            time in a TotalNet session.

All of the following settings and screen clips are taken from
Windows 2000 Pro. However all of the settings are also found
in similarly located places in the Dial Up Networking dialog
boxes and menues.

	Right click on the TotalNet icon and you will see the following menu pop up.
	Now click on "Properties".
	Make sure the "Use dialing rules" check box is unchecked. Also be sure you have a modem chosen here, and that the "Show icon in taskbar when connected" box in the lower left hand corner is checked. Finally, click on "Configure".
	Be sure that your screen Looks like this or has the same options checked. Then click "OK".
	Now click on "Options".
	Be sure that your screen Looks like this or has the same options checked. Redial Attempts, Time Between and Idle time are personal preferences and not critical. Then click on "Security"
	Be sure that your screen Looks like this or has the same options checked. Then click on "Settings".
	Be sure that your screen looks like this or has the same options checked. Then click "OK".
	Here at the top be sure that PPP is selected. Then click on "Settings".
	When the "PPP Settings" box pops up be sure the appropriate boxes are checked if you have them. Then click "OK".
	You are now back here. Now be sure TCP/IP settings box is checked and then click on "Properties".
	Check the apropriate boxes and then click on "DNS".
	Check the apropriate boxes and then click the "Add" button.
	Type "." in the box and click on "Add"
	Your window should now look like this. Click on "WINS".
	Check the apropriate boxes and then click on "Options".
	Click here on "Properties" then ......
	Be sure you check the Do not use IPSEC, then click on "OK" four times to resume normal operations.
