The
following instructions
will walk you through setting up
Outlook Express to access your e-mail
account with TotalNet.
All of the following settings
and screen clips are taken from
Windows 2000 Pro in Outlook Express 6. However all of the settings are
also found in similarly located places in Outlook Express 4 and 5.

Open Outlook Express. Your screen should look like this. | |

Click on Tools, then click on Accounts. | |

Click on the "Mail" tab. The screen will change to the image to the left. | |

Click the "Add" button. | |

Enter the name you want to be displayed to others when you send them e-mail. | |

In the "incoming mail server:" text box type in "pop.a1atotalnet.net" In "outgoing mail (SMTP) server" type in "mail.a1atotalnet.net" | |

Enter your e-mail address in the account name text box, except replace the @ sign with the % sign. Also enter your password in the password box. Make surethat the "Remember Password" checkbox is clicked so that you do not have to enter it each time you wish to check your e-mail. | |

Click on the "Send/Recv" button to download any message you may have waiting. | |

This screen should now appear, then dissapear when all messages are done downloading (if you have any). You also click the Send/Recv button to send mail. | |

That's it! You've setup your e-mail in Outlook Express! If you're done sending and receiving e-mail you can now close Outlook Express. |
